Meet the Teacher/Back to School BBQ
We invite you and your family to join us for the annual Family Barbeque/ Picnic and Meet the Teacher evening on Tuesday, September 8th. THIS IS THE NIGHT BEFORE CLASSES BEGIN FOR STUDENTS. This tradition of coming together as a school community is a great way for you as parents/guardians to be aware of this year's details, as well as decrease potential worry for your child about the new school year (which begins for them on Wednesday, September 9).
Please consider paying student fees (for K-8 students) and User Pay Lunch Program Fees (for K-5 students) at the Open House on Tuesday, September 8. There will also be Vision & Hearing permission slips for parents to sign off in your child's classroom that evening (for grades K, 1, 3, 5 and 7). You might also wish to bring some of your child's supplies at that time (e.g. Kleenex box, indoor running shoes, any items from the supply list on our school website).
The agenda for the evening will be:
Meet the Teacher 4:00pm - 5:00pm
Family Barbecue 5:00pm - 5:45pm
All children that are attending the barbecue must be accompanied by an adult. Classrooms will be open from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. While there will be no charge for the BBQ, families will be asked to visit their child’s classroom first to meet the teacher, and receive their BBQ food voucher, prior to the start of the barbeque/ picnic. Feel free to meet the teacher even if you do not want to participate in the barbecue.
Please feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy your meal in the schoolyard.
There is no cost for the BBQ this year.
We look forward to seeing you on the evening of Tuesday, September 8th.
